Inventor Elon Musk, who founded Tesla Motors, SpaceX, and PayPal, proposed what he called the fifth modes of transportation, after airplanes, trains, cars, and boats.
In a news release posted on the Tesla Motors website on Monday (8/12/2013), Musk said Hyperloop concept as a mode of transport "more secure, faster, cheaper, more comfortable, weather-resistant, self-sustainable energy, and hold earthquakes "than the high speed train that had been approved to be run between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Hyperloop are solar powered, a tube structure, or pipes that will launch passenger trains contain, through the pipe at speeds approaching 1,000 kilometers per hour.
op would be the best solution for both cities, which can reached in half an hour.
"In the vicinity of the inflection point (the point of inflection in the growth curve), I think the supersonic air travel will be the fastest and cheapest," he wrote.
Musk said that although he felt the idea could be realized and competitive, he does not have time to do it.
"I guess I like a suicide, by mentioning Hyperloop," he said in a meeting last week. "I do not have a plan to make it happen because I still have to focus on SpaceX and Tesla."
"Hyperloop even 3-4 times faster than the bullet train," said Musk.
Musk added, Hyperloop also has a high level of security and resistant to any kind of weather. Later, Hyperloop will connect the major cities in each country.
Making this Hyperloop expected to take 7-10 years. Musk was still busy with two other companies. Even so, he convinced, Hyperloop this project will be completed.
