Unique Facts Behind the July 4th Celebration of American Independence

What do you know about the United States Independence Day celebration every year on July 4th? Fireworks, eat burgers at a garden party, red-blue shirt. That's right. But you know that there are other facts behind the celebration that rarely known by people of America?

1. 1776: The splendor of the celebration and parade 2 days late.
2nd U.S. President John Adams wrote, voting to declare independence from Britain in the Second Continental Congres done on July 2, not July 4. On July 2, 1776, the Congress president John Hancock signed the Declaration of Independence. Therefore, for 236 years, the American people incorrectly define independence celebrations. According to Adam, should be 2 July is the anniversary of the United States.


2. 1826 and 1831: The three Death of President
From the five U.S. presidents, three of which dies on the 4th of July. Namely, John Adam, the second president, and Thomas Jefferson, the third president died almost at the same time on July 4, 1826. Adam died at the age of 90 years, while Jefferson, at the age of 83 years. Then John Monroe, the fifth president died on July 4, 1831.
But there is also a U.S. president born on July 4, the Calvin Coolidge, the 30th president was born on July 4, 1872.


 3. Victory of Vicksburg
After fighting for a month, Gen. John Pemberton of the Confederate army surrendered to Union troops at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4, 1863. This defeat be a turning point in the Civil War, with a victory in the Northern army.
However, the South did not want to give up two years later. City of Vicksburg itself refused celebrate July 4 for 81 years.


 4. 1884: Prize of the French size XXL
United States may be the only country that received the greatest birthday present in the world. France gave a surprise by awarding United States the Statue of Liberty on the anniversary of July 4, 1884.
On July 4, 1884 was also a horrendous occurring events. Namely miners in Swan City, Colorado blew the post office to celebrate because the city does not receive supply of fireworks.


 5. 1912: July 4 Globalize
Not just United States who celebrate it. Denmark also celebrate it because in 1912, thousands of immigrants entering the United States from Denmark. Thousands of Danish and U.S. soldiers who served in Europe celebrate the day together with a festival held in the open space in Rebild, Denmark.

  
6. 1998: Will she become the president?
President Barack Obama's first daughter, Malia, was born on July 4, 14 years ago. The three years ago, she celebrated her birthday, by way a family picnic with hundreds of soldiers in the White House garden.
